Cinematics Designer/Scripter

United Front Games is seeking a cinematics scripter to work on an upcoming next gen, original IP title.  Candidates for this position must have related scripting experience, a sensibility for gameplay storytelling and the ability to work well within a team environment of a variety of disciplines. This position works closely with the level design and world art teams. Candidates for this position should be prepared to provide samples of written game scripts. This is a contract role.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implementing Cinematics.  The scripter utilizes our in-house scripting tools to author NIS (non-interactive sequences) by staging the scenes, setting up cameras and paths, and scripting timing and transitions. May also include some basic in-world (non-character) animation. Must have creativity, ability to proactively spot technical and creative problems, and be able to work well both with and without supervision. Experience in photography and/or cinematography is a strong plus.
  • Teamwork Focused.  The Scripter must be proactive in iterating the scripting and cinematics design based upon objective and subjective factors. The objective factors primarily include engineering and testing concerns. The subjective factors must include the consensus of the team working on the project, including other Scripters and Designers.   Also, the Scripter is expected, if asked, to provide feedback to other Designers.
  • Ability to quickly learn and creatively use an evolving toolset. As the toolset is evolving, flexibility and a positive attitude to work around any road blocks are required.
  • Prioritize to meet deadlines - be proactive in communicating and takes initiative to find a resolution to issues.


  • Strong interpersonal skills—able to interact with team members of different disciplines
  • Scripting experience in UnrealScript, ActionScript or LUA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
