Lead Animator

Lead Animator

The ideal person will be working with the Art Director for all in-game animations and NIS. Strong understanding of traditional animation fundamentals with good project management skills will be the key to deliver animations. The candidate will be working in collaboration with the designer and engineering team to set up the animation trees.

This role reports to the Art Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates the artistic quality standards, developing and maintaining an achievable animation vision with the team and working closely with them to realize animation goals for projects
  • Manipulate data for gameplay animations and cinematic sequences
  • Understanding of stylized and exaggerated primary and secondary movement.
  • Understanding of how to create animation for blending.
  • Establishes new processes and controls to improve team efficiency
  • Leads and develops the animation team providing mentoring and training. Keeping up to date on techniques and processes in the industry
  • Works under minimal supervision
  • Able to give and receive feedback in art reviews.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5 years of game animation experience or worked on 3 published titles.
  • Experience with Maya and MotionBuilder.
  • Current knowledge of software and industry techniques.
  • A passion for making and playing games!
  • Strong key frame animation skills.
