Technical Project Manager (TPM)

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is ultimately responsible for the overall execution of all technical and game programming related tasks. With information provided by the Project Leads, as well as with the criteria and plans of the studio’s Management, the TPM will develop and implement plans to guide each team member to completion on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all technical tasks are scheduled and executed as per the requirements of the project milestones
  • Collaborates with project managers, producers and technical team to adjust project goals and design revisions as necessary to adapt to changing situations and meet established schedules
  • Elicits estimates, monitors progress, and removes blockers. Anticipates challenges.
  • Keeps Production team/ Leads up to speed on product status through the preparation and presentation of appropriate project materials (e.g., milestone updates, demos, etc)
  • Generates project documentation and works with them to ensure these documents are maintained and up to date
  • Must be willing to carry out responsibilities with little to no supervision in an expeditious, highly efficient, effective and professional manner
  • Ensure deliverable(s)  are on time and attain level of quality expected by the Studio Management
  • Works collaboratively with team to deliver the AAA experience

Qualifications:

  • Must have a programming background preferably working in small- medium size Next Gen console teams
  • Must have Project Management experience working specifically with a software engineering team
  • At least 5 years experience in video games
  • Bachelors of computing science preferred
  • Desire to learn, grow and be open to new ideas, production techniques, and management techniques
  • Professionalism, commitment and maturity in performing job duties
  • Well-developed technical communication skills, and inter-personal skills. Possesses the ability to share information and techniques
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Objectivity; being equal and fair to all team members
